For years I found myself trapped in the same repeating cycles that led to addiction, financial instability (including a bankruptcy in my early 20's), eating disorders, codependent relationships, and an unconscious desire to sabotage myself at every turn. My body didn't know how to hold stability, let alone success. My nervous system became so accustomed to instability and chaos that I confused numbness for calm, and was even proud of the way I held my composure while the world was crumbling around me (I called this "resilience").

What is breathwork - and why does it work?
